 Islamiah College, Vaniyambadi had entered into partnership with IGNOU under Convergence Scheme, and had enrolled about 800 girls and boys in BCA,, B.Com., MCA and MBA courses. It is a parallel college, and its second Annual Day was celebrated on Sunday, 4th the May 2010, and Dr Sudersan, Deputy Director of UGC Convergence Scheme, New Delhi was the chief guest.
The chief guest in his address said that the IGNOU campus at Islamiah College is a great success, and he was very much impressed by the keen interest the Management had taken to make the IGNOU classes under Convergence Scheme useful to those boys and girls who could not seek admission in regular colleges. Students enrolled in the IGNOU courses are eligible for scholarships also. There is provision for students to write the exam in their mother tongues too.
